Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin was born October, 7, 1952, in Lenigrad, Russia, which is now St. Petersburg. In the early years of the life of Vladimir, he and his parents lived in a communal home with two other families. Vladimir Putin was the only child. It is said that his mother had Vladimir secretly baptized at the Orthodox church. She passed away in 1998. Vladimir Putin continues to be a practicing Christian to date. Vladimir also took martial arts classes as a child, where he specialized in the sambo technique. One of the academic interests of Vladimir Putin while in high school was chemistry. He later gained a particular interest in biology and the liberal arts. His high school years also consisted of being a DJ at the school radio station, in which he had a special focus in the tunes of the Western rock bands. Vladimir Putin had attended Lenigrad State University. It was there that he had also excelled with his martial arts. Vladimir was the university’s champion of judo during his time on campus in the early 1970s. Vladimir went on to earn his doctorate degree in economics. His father once worked at a metal factory, and was a war veteran. His father passed away in 1999. This was a significant time in the life of Vladimir Putin because this was also the time in which he was appointed as the Prime Minister of Russia.

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010Russian culture is a deeply rooted type of culture, that dates back to the time where the makeup of the Russian community was filled with many who took on the pagan beliefs that were associated with the East Slavs. The time was the 850s A.D. Moving up a bit up the Russian timeline, the Russian community had developed a love and expertise in the Arts. In today’s day and age, one of the aspects that is synonymous with Russian culture is the fact that Russian society has come to master just about every form of creative artistry. One of the areas of Russian culture to which they are known is for the Russian contributions to classical music. The Russians, Jewish, the Ukrainians, and the Gypsies alike, have come to add to the melodic sounds that are heard in the classical tunes of Russia. Russian society is most well known for the folk music that they were able to create. What makes these folk songs so important to Russian culture is the messages that even the very first folk songs exude. And of course, this warranted the dancing that is also known to be a very characterized part of Russian culture as we know it.

The Scythians were those that lived in Southern Russia and have been noted for the carefully crafted embroidery work that they were able to produce. Russian history had made a shift by the 300s A.D. when the Scythians were said to be invaded by the Huns, who migrated as far as the Volga River, the Avars, who is also said to have invaded Italy, and the Ostrogoths, which was an East Germanic tribe who had a large political influence in the Roman Empire. The history of Russian people had come to reach a pivotal moment when the Avars, the Ostrogoths, and the Huns united. As this element of society within Russian history was forming, this was also a time in the history of Russian society where there was a large amount of trade transpiring amongst those in and around the country of Russia. The history of Russian society had come to reach a very important point when the Slavs began to make their significant impact on Russian history. The Slavs had united with the Vikings, one of the other key traders at this time within Russian history.

Russia is a country that operates under the direction of a President and a Prime Minister. Russia today is a federation that is made of 83 federal subjects. Russia is the largest country in the world. In addition to its rather large land mass of over 6,500,000 sq mi, it also has 9 different time zones. This large land mass of the country of Russia does not come without value. This is because Russia today is known as being the country to contain the most mineral, energy power, and forest reserves than any other country in the world.
